Look. People can hate on whichever teams, countries, players they choose - that’s your right. And if your reason for rooting against a certain national team is because their country’s history leaves a bad taste in your mouth or you think their home support is too obnoxious, that’s fair enough. You do you.

But some of y’all take it unbelievably too far when you start labeling the players “racist colonizers”. That’s disgusting and the most sore loser behaviour I’ve ever seen within woso. None of these players deserve that.

Are you going to label the Canadian players “indigenous genociders” because of where they’re from? Last time I checked Australia’s history regarding their indigenous peoples is not so great either. Nor is America’s. Shall we start calling the German players Nazis?

If you’re going to be deranged at least be consistent about it. Don’t pick and choose.

Jokes are all well and good. And I understand that countries have to wear the stains of their pasts to some extent. But stop making it about these female athletes like they themselves committed atrocities and deserve bad karma for it ffs. Get an actual grip. Shameful behaviour.
